1Introduction

Thank you for using Vesperloom ("the App"). Your privacy is the foundation of everything we build. This Privacy Policy explains what information the App handles, how it is stored, and the choices you have.

By using Vesperloom, you agree to the practices described in this policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the App.

2Our Core Principle: Local-First

The App is designed as a local-first experience. Your diary entries, moods, habit records, tags, and settings are stored directly on the device you are using, in a local database that only the App can access.

• No account or registration is required to use the App.
• No data is synced to the cloud, unless you explicitly choose a third-party backup service offered by your device's operating system.
• We do not have access to, and cannot read, the content you write.

3Information Handled by the App

While we do not collect your data, the App does store the following information locally on your device so that it can function:

• Journal entries: titles, body text, dates, mood selections, tags, and star/favorite status.
• Mood records: the mood you select each day (Bright, Calm, Focused, Grounded, Restless, Heavy, or Stormy).
• Habit rituals: habit names, check-in records, and streaks.
• App preferences: appearance settings (Light Parchment / Deep Night Nest), and other configuration choices.

All of the above stays on your device. None of it is transmitted to us or to any third party.

4What We Do Not Collect

To be completely clear, Vesperloom does not collect any of the following:

• Your name, email address, phone number, or any account information.
• Your precise location or contacts.
• Camera, microphone, or photo library access, except when you explicitly choose to attach media to an entry (which stays local).
• Analytics, crash reports, or advertising identifiers that are linked to your journal content.

The App contains no advertising SDKs and no third-party trackers.

5Third-Party Services & Optional Backups

Vesperloom itself does not integrate any third-party analytics, advertising, or cloud service.

However, your device's operating system may offer its own backup and sync features (such as iCloud, Google Drive, or system-level device backup). If you enable those features at the system level, copies of your local App data may be stored by that service according to its own privacy policy. Vesperloom does not control and is not responsible for data handled by your operating system or device manufacturer.

6Children's Privacy

Vesperloom is not directed to children under the age of 13 (or the equivalent age in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect any personal information from children. Since all data is stored locally on the device, parents or guardians have full control over the device and may delete any content at any time through the App's settings.

7Your Choices & Data Control

Because your data is stored locally, you have complete control over it:

• Delete individual entries: remove any journal page, mood, or habit at any time within the App.
• Erase all data: go to Settings to clear all journals, moods, and habits with a single tap.
• Uninstall: deleting the App removes its local database from your device. Please export or back up anything you wish to keep before uninstalling.

8Security

Your entries are stored in a local database on your device and are protected by the device's own security mechanisms (such as passcode, Face ID, or encryption). We recommend keeping your device's operating system up to date and using a strong device passcode.

Because no data is transmitted over the network by the App, the primary risk to your privacy comes from someone gaining physical access to your unlocked device. Please keep your device secure.

9Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make changes, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Material changes will be communicated through the App or its official listing page. Your continued use of the App after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
